Recustom is operated by Vitamin Creative Lab Limited ("Recustom", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies when you visit recustom.ai, create a Recustom account, connect a commerce channel, use our applications, submit content, or use our production and fulfillment services.
Merchants control how they collect personal data from their customers. When Recustom processes order and customer data to provide services to a merchant, Recustom generally acts as the merchant's processor or service provider. For account administration, service security, billing, and our own business operations, Recustom may act as a controller.
01Scope and our roles
This policy covers Recustom's marketing website, merchant dashboard, embedded Shopify application, APIs, product creation tools, AI-assisted features, order workflows, and communications. A merchant's own storefront and its independent privacy practices are governed by the merchant's policies.
If you are an end customer of a merchant, the merchant is normally the primary contact for privacy requests about your order. We support merchants in responding to verified requests as described in our Data Processing and GDPR Terms.
02Personal data we collect
Waitlist data
Before public registration opens, we collect the email address you submit, email confirmation status, language, referring page, campaign parameters, and optional answers about your commerce platform, Shopify store, store URL, plan interest, and the Recustom capabilities you want to use. Joining the waitlist does not create an account or connect a store.
Merchant and account data
Name, email address, authentication records, account preferences, support history, and business profile information.
Connected store and channel data
Store domain, store identifiers, granted permissions, encrypted access credentials, product and listing data, order identifiers, fulfillment status, and channel events received through Shopify or another integration you connect.
Order and recipient data
Customer name, contact details, shipping address, order contents, customization selections, production status, shipping carrier, and tracking information. Recustom does not receive full payment card numbers from Shopify or Stripe.
Content and generated assets
Images, photographs, text, product concepts, prompts, listing copy, production files, previews, and other material submitted to or generated through the Service. Images may contain personal data about the people or animals depicted in them.
Billing and transaction data
Subscription status, wallet transactions, charge amount, currency, Stripe customer or payment identifiers, Shopify billing references, invoices, refunds, and chargeback information.
Technical and communications data
IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, request logs, authentication events, error diagnostics, security signals, and messages sent to Recustom support.
03Where data comes from
- directly from you when you register, configure the Service, upload content, or contact us;
- from Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, Stripe, or another service that you authorize Recustom to connect to;
- from merchants and their storefront customers when an order or customization is submitted;
- from production partners, shipping carriers, and service providers that return production or delivery status; and
- automatically from the device, browser, and servers used to access the Service.
04How we use personal data
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and consent where consent is required. We do not use merchant customer data to market Recustom directly to those customers.
- confirm waitlist email addresses, measure interest by source, send beta invitations when access becomes available, and, where you opt in, send occasional product updates;
- provide, maintain, authenticate, and secure Recustom accounts and integrations;
- import products and orders, create production assets, route approved orders, and return fulfillment status;
- process subscriptions, wallet transactions, invoices, refunds, and account entitlements;
- operate AI-assisted product, image, listing, and production workflows requested by the merchant;
- respond to support, privacy, security, and legal requests;
- prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and violations of our policies;
- debug, measure, and improve the reliability and performance of the Service; and
- comply with tax, accounting, sanctions, platform, and other legal obligations.
05AI-assisted processing
Recustom may send the content and instructions needed for a requested feature to selected AI infrastructure or model providers. This may include product photographs, customer uploads, prompts, and listing content. We limit the data sent to what is reasonably needed to perform the requested task and contract providers to process data for service delivery.
Merchants must not submit sensitive personal data, biometric identifiers, medical data, or other special-category data unless Recustom has expressly agreed in writing that the Service supports that processing.
07International data transfers
Recustom and its service, production, and logistics partners may process data in countries other than the country where it was collected. When European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Swiss personal data is transferred to a country without an applicable adequacy decision, we use an approved transfer mechanism where required, such as Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary safeguards.
08Data retention
We retain data only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including operating an active account, fulfilling orders, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting tax, accounting, platform, and legal requirements. Retention periods vary by record type, merchant instructions, account status, and applicable law.
When data is no longer required, we delete, anonymize, or isolate it from routine use. Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups or logs until they are replaced through the normal retention cycle. A legal hold or fraud investigation may require longer retention of specific records.
09Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal data, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and appeal a decision. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Merchants can make a request by emailing hello@recustom.ai. End customers should normally contact the merchant that accepted the order. Recustom will support the merchant with a verified request. We may request information needed to verify identity, authority, and the account or order involved.
11Security
Recustom uses technical and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the data and the risks of processing. No service can guarantee absolute security. Learn more on our Security page.
12Children
Recustom is a business service and is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create an account. Merchants must obtain all legally required permissions before submitting content or personal data relating to a minor.
13Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the Service, our providers, or applicable law changes. We will post the current version here and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use personal data, we will provide additional notice where required.
