“Product truth” means two different things here

In OrderMesh, product normalization solves a supply-chain problem: different producers often represent SKUs, methods, costs, and capabilities differently. A normalized catalog makes routing and multi-node production possible without every commerce system learning every vendor’s schema.

In Recustom, product truth is commercial and creative as well as operational. The Product Skill retains the audience, creative treatment, valid inputs, listing guidance, production template, and supplier binding needed to keep one offer coherent.

A scaled organization may need both forms. A production network can fulfill an order efficiently only after a product is defined, listed, discovered, and purchased. This is an architecture decision, not an app install

Recustom presents a product-oriented application and connected storefront workflow. Setup should be evaluated at the level of a Product Skill, buyer input, production output, approval, and supplier handoff.

OrderMesh is infrastructure. Its value grows with integration depth: normalized products, vendor plugins, APIs, routing rules, operational data, security requirements, and the teams responsible for exceptions. The buyer may never know it is in the stack.

Ask who will own implementation after launch. A seller-facing tool can fail through poor product setup; an infrastructure platform can fail through incomplete mappings, missing events, conflicting sources of truth, or exception queues that no team owns.

The scale threshold changes what “cost” means

For a smaller personalized-products business, the expensive resource may be human attention per SKU and per order. Recustom’s value should be measured against design preparation, listing work, content creation, order review, and supplier coordination.

For a larger network, the expensive resource may be engineering integrations, vendor onboarding, misrouting, production downtime, inconsistent catalog data, SLA failures, and manual exception triage. Gooten’s platform is aimed at that class of operational cost.

Do not compare only software plans. Model the cost of a failed order, the percentage requiring human intervention, time to onboard a new product or vendor, recovery from capacity loss, and the number of systems touched.
